Long time no update my blog and felt that I need to shit something out today. Well, the news provide me with something to write. Thanks to my informant who got to me as soon as he got the news.
Yet another by-election is on the table when another MP passed away this morning. This time around is a BN guy from Sibu. This happened even before both political factions in the country had announced their candidates for Hulu Selangor by-elections.
"In US, the most dangerous job is loggers, with a mortality rate of 0.117%. But Malaysia now holds a new record... Here's prove - Total number of ADUNs and MPs: Approx 800. Total number of ADUNs and MPs who died since March 8, 2008: 8. thus Mortality rate of being a representative: approx 1%. Behold, wakil rakyat, the most dangerous job in the world." - Nigel
It seems that the job as politicians had become increasingly hazardous, with so many death since the political tsunami. By-elections after by-elections, some due to death and some are just political strategies.
My dad always wanted me to join politics and I don't want to due to the stress of it. I can see it in my dad, really stupid to work for the people who don't appreciate your effort. Any politician will have people don't appreciate them, at least by those supporters of the other factions, be it BN or PR.
Stress had caused many death in politics in Malaysia, but not as serious as some other nation in terms of murders. There are some murders of politician at grassroots level but I had not seen any big names being killed by gunshots yet.
The recent death are mostly due to health problem. The stress they got from their daily life as politician accumulates and caused heart attacks, worsen cancer cells, maybe some going nuts wanting to be the head. One exception I know would be YB Seet, who suffered heart attack three times before he got elected and lived his life better since he got to be in the DUN.
Why there are still people in the politics then? Well, maybe as what my dad says, to champion the voice of the people. =.= Fuck off, be selfish please. Now, that's me.
